Yes it gets humid in Texas. I used to live in the Northeast part of Texas and it can get very humid there. Humidity and heat are two different things but I have seen it get to 106 before. In West Texas I think it gets even hotter but is more of a dry heat. The land is more desert like there.

It gets very humid in parts of Texas - especially down by Houston. It can be over 100 degrees and raining heavily. It's like a jungle down there. Bug heaven.
