does it overheat? if yes then either it or the thermostat, fan, etc are bad. does the heat work? if it doesnt then the pump could be bad or the heatercore is bad or a restriction in the heater lines etc.

With the engine at operating temp, grab a hold of the upper radiator hose (wear gloves as the hose can be hot). Give it a squeeze and then let go. If the pump is operating properly, you should fell the hose 'thump' in your hands as the coolant surges through.

well your car wont over heat. you can when the engine is cold open the radiator cap start the engine wait till it warms up so that the thermostat opens up and look in the radiator and see if there is coolant flowing or just sitting there. hope this helps.

Why was new water pump installed in first place, if the problem is eliminated, pup is working, it may not be new, say it is used. Why are you asking this question?

If it ain't leaking and the belt ain't slipping, you can bet that it's working! If you just have to check remember RADIATORS BUILD PRESSURE WITH HEAT!!!!! but you can have the cap off with the motor running you should be able to see circulation, but get the cap loose before your system builds pressure!!!
