Ok, I'm going into 7th grade, and I'm almost 13, and I want to wear makeup, and I was thinking neutural, natural, earth tone colors. What do you think? I don't really like brown, but I have this pinkish-orangish earthy lipstick and I LOVE green eyeshadow and I love eyeliner too. Any suggestions, tips, advice?

Lots of people in my school like to wear bright things to get them noticed, but I'm not like that, So I figured something different (earth tones) would get me noticed.

I have brown eyes and I don't like pink eyeshadow, and I could never go out looking like a clown. I don't want to put too much on cuz I don't want to ruin my face, and I don't wear make up every day, so I'm not totally killing my face

my hair is a light brown with some blond highlights that are natural that I got from the sun. My hair is wavy, but sometimes I straighten it, I am really tan right now, cuz I went to the pool, and during spring break I went to florida, got tan, did Track and Field, kept my tan, and went to the pool over the summer, so I'm still tan.

I also have freckles, but they're not all over my face and they're not too dark.

I think I'll stick with eyeliner and some pale brownish pinkish orangish color that doesnt make my lips look like I have makeup on, but it looks like I have natural light reddish lips

If you have blue eyes, the best shade for your eyes are neutral tones. You don't have to stick with browns; there are lots of neutral colors that you can wear. If you have brown eyes, jewel tones are good, like pinks, purples and even greens. If your eyes are hazel, you can wear any color you want. Following this will make your eyes sparkle, and people will notice your eyes, not your eyeshadow.

You want to wear a blush that accentuates your natural skin tone. If you have pink undertones, then go with pinks; if you have yellow undertones, go with browns; if you have peach undertones, go with peaches. You can get very light shades of all of these things, but to follow your natural beauty will make you noticeable, without people noticing your makeup.

Same rules apply for lipstick.

You can go to the mall and get a free makeover from one of the department stores. Clinique is good for a girl your age, or prescriptives. When you're older, like in your twentys, you want to switch to Dior, or something more along those lines.

I started wearing makeup at your age, I wish there had been someone I could have gone to for advice. I used WAY too much!I've since learned how to "tone it down" and make it look natural. I also have brown eyes, so I'll let you know what works for me. First, use either foundation, or powder, but never both. Once you have that applied, swipe on a VERY soft pink blush on the apples of your cheeks. For eyes, use a neutral (off white or light beige) and brush it all over the lid. Then use a slightly ligher beige/tan/brown shadow, and brush it at the bottom of your upper lid. You could also use a little bit of brown eyeliner if you feel inclined to do so. As for mascera, if you have dark eyelashes, I would just use clear. Otherwise, use a light to medium brown shade, trust me it'll be more than enough. For lips, use a lightly tinted lip gloss or really shiny clear one. Have fun, experiment, and find the look that works for you :)

If you're going to start wearing makeup, then don't just do what the other girls do to fit in. You can wear a really small amount of makeup and still look great (and natural!) Makeup isn't supposed to cover anything up - it is supposed to accentuate what you already have! So if you wear some green eyeshadow you like, then learn the right ways to apply it and maybe just wear chapstick or clear gloss with it so you don't look like you're trying too hard. I'm sure you don't need makeup but sounds like you wanna start so have fun! (Oh, and i wouldn't start wearing foundation unless you really have problem skin because it will just clog your pores!! You're young so you shouldnt need it!!)

If you have brown eyes, then purple usually is a really nice color to use. And no you won't look like a clown!! You just have to know how to apply it, that's the most important thing. A pretty purple color (they have a lot of those 3-in-1 sets at stores like Target and Walgreens, by Almay or Covergirl etc) would look pretty. Otherwise I like to wear browns and neutral colors (I have hazel-brown eyes) good luck :)

Ok. Natural colors are cool if they're combined with one dark. First use foundation cover-up that's the same shade as you're skin tone. I'd choose black eyeliner applied very lightly, combined with gray eyeshadow for your eyes. You can also use a little dark brown mascara. Wear clear ultra-shimmer lip gloss to top it all off. You'll look really cool!

earth tones aren't just going to get you noticed because "everyone else wears bright colors"....i'm sure lots of people use more natural make up and you yourself didn't notice them. i think if you like green eyeshadow you should go for it...but as a rule of thumb...if you have bold eyeshadow colors, use neutral/pinkish shades on your lips and cheeks - if you wanted to wear that lipstick you have, then just tone down the make up on your eyes (maybe no eyeliner that day or something) ....that way ONE of your features will pop and the others will be more sublte...you don't want more than one feature screaming "look at me now!"

Oh no fair..i had to wait until i was 16 to wear make-up. Since your so young you better use earth tones! Ya don't want to end up looking like a clown...And i wouldn't use eyeshadow just yet. Maybe just some eyeliner and lip gloss.

well you wanna be as natural as possible because it really isn't very flattering to wear pounds of makeup. you may not notice if you are pounding it on but others will definitely notice. dont focus on eyeshadows and lipsticks. instead swipe dark mascara, use chapstick(because natural is def in) and use a brush to swipe some powder on your face. Loreal true match superblendable is an awesome product and you can also try the maybelline tinted moisturizers

Well it depends on your personal preference, but i really like earthy colors too! I prefer - especially in young girls - for then to ENHANCE what they have - not cover it up. Know what i mean? If your parents don't mind you wearing make up then just experiment and see what you like or go to the mall and have one of the ladies at a make up counter give you a facial. I did that right after i started wearing make up and she got mad at me cuz i didn't buy anything, but that was how i learned to put my make up on correctly!

Just rememer to only emphasize ONe thing at a time....
If you are going to do your eyes good keep your lips neutral same vise versa
Its fun to experiment
I suggest when you are home and have free time to practice putting on make up or ask someone to help you learn so that when you do wear it to school it doesnt look Overdone--Good luck hun and i think 13 is a perfect age to start wearin git--I did.
