My husband and I have been TTC and this morning my period is due. I took a test this AM (first responce) and there was a VERY FAINT 2nd line. Basically if you were to see it sitting on a counter, you couldn't see the line, but if you picked it up and looked, you could see it. My husband also saw it so I know it wasn't just my imagination. What I am asking is, has this ever happened to anyone then come to find out you were/were not pregnant? Yes, I will be taking another one if I don't start in a couple days

A faint line indicates that the level of hormone "human chorionic gonadotropin" or hCG on the sample tested is very low (as your hCG level at this period is expected to be low). The presence of hCG no matter how faint is the result suggests that you are pregnant. (hCG is a hormone produced by placenta after the implantation of the embryo to the uterus.) HCG level increases as your pregnancy progresses. Congratulations!

Yes, you are pregnant. You might want to have the health department do a second test for you just to be sure, but I'm pretty positive. I took my pregnancy test on Mother's Day last year, and the 2nd line was faint then too. My baby boy was born in January.

This happened to me. Not pregnant.
By the time your period is due, your hormones should be at a high enough level to make a pretty good second line.
I took a pregnancy test when I knew I WASN'T pregnant, so that I would know what a negative response looks like. You can see the traces of where the second line would appear on a positive test, but there's no real color to it, like in the control.

with my first pregnancy and my current pregnancy i have had the faintest lines show up for my second line saying that i was pregnant. Retest yourself again to see if the results are the same or go to your doctor and explain the situation they can do a more reliable test for you. The darkness of the line is telling you how much hcg the test is actually picking up. women dont produce that hormone unless they are pregnant. congratulations to the both of you From my experiences I would personally say that you were pregnant but getting checked by the doctor would be the most reliable for sure answer for u

It has happened to Me.In the beginningI took a test and had the same results as you after that I went to a clinic and took another test and seeing the famous faint line again and I just took a blood test and found out that I was not pregnant. But good luck and I wish you the best,...

Sounds pretty positive to me. A blood test from your doctor would be able to confirm it too. Definitely test again in a day or two....but it sounds pretty positive.....just in case it isn't then try this: go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive. My Doctor recommended it to me and after 1 year of trying I got the book. It worked the very next month. It turns out that my timing was wrong due to mis-information. I hope it helps you, too! It's not only about getting pregnant. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!

Yes this happened to me with both my pregnancies. The first time I took the test the 2nd line was very faint. It got darker and darker in the next couple days as my HcG levels shot up. Congrats - sounds like you are pregnant !

CONGRATULATIONS!! I had the SAME thing happen to me, wheter it be a faint line or not, there was a line, and I am now 8 months pregnant...Wait a few days and take another, if it makes you feel better, but from my experience, you are gonna be a Mommy!!

two lines means pregnant NO MISTAKE. BUT never read a test after any longer than 8-10min as they become faulty and you can get all sorts of answers, but if the 2 lines came up within the 1st 5-10 mins then YOU ARE PREGNANT :) :) :) :) congrats

Yes, it happened to me and I was pregnant ! The second line on the test was very faint ,but it was there ! Congrats!!!!!
