Because I do. I strongly support Mel Gibson and stand behind him 100%
He is entitled to his opinions. Troops fight and die everyday to give him that right. Did you ever stop to think maybe he's sick and tired of seeing our Troops die for stupid crap! Tired of Wars and killing for stupid crap! That was probably on his mind and why he was drinking in the first place. So why wouldn't it be the first thing to come out of his mouth when he was pulled over and arrested.
Wife beaters are ranting about their wives when they are pulled over, ppl mad at their workplace are usually ranting about their boss or job when they are pulled over..etc..so there is nothing different here.

I never said he didn't deserve to pay the DUI penalty. Setting an example and ending someone's career are two different things entirely.
He already apologized twice and the bible says before we go to God to go and make it right to the one we offended and then come and bring our offering of repentence to God. God will then forgive and remember our sins no more. So if it's good enough for God, it should be more than good enough for us. Who are we to judge anyone?
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
It takes a racist bastard to call someone a racist bastard.
I was really looking forward to seeing the mini series.
This world needs to grow up as a whole and forget about all the my gimme mine selfishness.
I really don't believe Mel would use a bad slant on the Holocaust.

A anti-Semite doing a miniseries on the Holocaust? How about Adolph Hitler as Tevia in" Fiddler on the Roof".

Let's face it, after Mr. Gibson called someone a *** jew, he was finished in Hollywood. It was totally wrong of him to say what he said, but he did apologize & he's humilated - I think that's enough punishment, but certain people will choose to never let an insult pass. He is entitled to his opinion, even though people (especially public figures) should be careful of others' feelings. I'm personally sick & tired of how the whole world treats each other. We seem to have lost simple manners totally. Not to mention a sense of decency & forgiveness towards each other.

I don't think we have the right to make that call. There are people still around who survived the Nazi's and came out of the Holocaust - against all odds and the desire of the enemy, alive. They should be the ones making the call - along with the entity who is expected to shell out money for the production.

I think we should be focusing on the fact that he put himself and others in harms way; and leave what came out of his mouth alone.
A drunk will say anything especially to a cop! I have gotten attitude with cops when stopped and I wasn't drunk!
This should not have impact on his career whatsoever. Let he who has no sin cast the first stone.

No, because they have to set an example that they are doing the right thing, he wasn't just unleashing an anti-Semitic tirade he was driving under the influence of alcohol too. which a lot of other actors do and the get punished for it. He too should be treated the same way.

Frankly, I would be suspect of any mini-series Gibson did on the Holocaust.
Since he appears to be anti-Semitic, I would wonder if any series he did would be "revisionist."
A lot of my parents' friends escaped Nazi Germany.
I wouldn't trust Gibson's "slant" on the Holocaust.

Yes I do think they are riding him too hard. He was drinking and a lot of people say a lot of things when they have been drinking. He apologized quickly and admitted to having a problem.

Disney is entitled to their opinions also, and there opinion is that they don't want to work with an antisemite -- and Mel Gibson is an antisemite, he was raised that way by his holocast denying father.

I don't think it's as much a punishment for him as for those of us who need to see the miniseries. We didn't have to survive the holocaust, so I think WE need to see it.
Also, I think there's no telling what I would say while under the influence of medications, alcohol, etc.....or if he was provoked.

Yes I do. He made comments about the little bitty cry baby Jews. Though I have nothing against them they can run things into the ground.
