I'm kinda in some agreement with Jock on this, there is a lot of work to be done.
The main reason why you don't know how to get these auditions is that you have not gone through the proper channels.

You have been deceived by the 'do it now, it's easy' attitude that seems to come from all this unreal 'reality' TV rubbish.

Get some training. Depending upon your age, maybe a 'Stagecoach' type school if you're under 16 - there are bound to be some nearby to you. If you are over 18 then you MUST get some recognised training at an approved drama school. Look up the 'conference of drama schools' to find a good one that appeals to you.

So, first, you have to audition for THEM (they generally have 300/500 applicants for 30 or so places each year). Then you do some training- between one and three years, depending up your age and the experience that you've already had. Hopefully you will come away from that training with some solid experience and a better understanding of the process of being an actor and the nature of the game. You will certainly have the opportunity to 'showcase' your growing talent... and some drama schools 'showcase' in central London - even the West End!

Then you may end up finding a reputable agent who will take you on. You will put your details and a head-shot in Spotlight, and sign up with some of the 'casting' lists that abound these days. Read 'The Stage' religiously every week.

Then, in four or five years, you too could be an 'overnight sensation'!

Or... you could do nothing but sit and dream and wait for the call from 'X-Factor' producers and live a wasted life of regret and remorse.
Get off your @rse and make it happen. It won't come to you, you have to go for it.

well I'm sure that in London, there must be an actor's trade paper with audition notices just like here in the US. The other thing is, I'm sure British Equity has a website with casting notices. Maybe you could just go to all the theatres with your resume and photo and drop it off so they have it. Get an agent to set up auditions for you and get some talent!!!

This will be someone else who hasn't done a day's work in our industry or had any sort of training.
Televison is telling you ANYBODY can do this.
You can't.
Forget it.
