This is my first pregnancy and I am 14 weeks pregnant. I have been going to my prenatal appointments but sometimes/NOT AT ALL feel pregnant. I wake up in the morning and my tummy is flat. In the middle of the day or after eating my stomach gets bigger and stays that way for the whole day. Is this normal?

Your only 14 weeks don't expect too much action right now. You probably won't feel movement until 4-5 months. And you probably won't show until 4 months.

I will be at 14 weeks this Friday....I don't always feel pregnant yet either. Most of the stomach getting bigger right now is actually GAS! I know it sounds crazy, but it's true. Your baby is only about 3 inches long at this point and you uterus is the size of a grapefruit. You should start showing pretty soon. Also, you really won't feel any movement until late in the 4th month......sometimes a little earlier if youare really skinny or it's not your first pregnancy. I had an ultrasound yesterday and have the pics sitting at my desk....it really became real to me when I saw the baby moving and saw the heartbeat....
Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting". It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

You are fine! I have had four children and each and every pregnancy was different. It takes long with your first pregnancy to be able to feel the baby move. sometimes it is as far as 20 weeks before you feel it for the first time. Don't be alarmed. Just continue to go to your prenatal visits. If you want to start trying to feel your baby move, lay on your stomach on the bed and lay really still. Sometimes it helps to put a pillow under your stomach. when you first begin to feel your baby move it will feel sort of like 'butterfly flutters" or that feeling that you get in your stomach when you are nervous about something or something startles you. Good Luck! You are fine.

Well first, at 14 weeks and first pregnancy you probably won't feel the baby move yet. With my first I didn't feel her move until about 18 weeks. I always felt pregnant because I was extremely sick but a friend of mine was pregnant the same time I was and she didn't have any symptoms at all for quite some time. Funny thing was, I was pregnant with a girl and she with a boy. It's different with each pregnancy, but it is normal so don't worry.
But I am going to guess your having a boy!

I know you are excited to "feel" pregnant but you will be glad later because you get very sick of the maternity clothes by the end. One thing that I did the first time around was visit a maternity store and tried on some of the clothes, they have a pillow there that you put on so you can pick out the clothes that will fit a little better later. Just putting this on and seeing yourself in the mirror makes you feel a little more like an expectant mommy. Good luck and congratulations on your upcoming precious arrival.

I am only 6wks pregnant for the first time but I go thru the same thing I wake up and I worry if I feel great and don't have nausea so then I press on my boobs to make sure they're still tender. so I guess it's normal to worry as long as you keep going for your prenatal appointments and you are aware of the symptoms to be aware of, and I think bloating is normal. Good luck with everything!

You will more then likely not feel your baby move until your around 20 wks. And you will know too, it will be a feeling that will bring such an enjoymen to your heart, ou might even cry. (I did with my first pregnancy). and yes it iis very normal to not even feel pregnant. Especially with your first pregnancy, things wont bother you as much, as they would in more pregnancies. Good Luck to you, and wait a little bit when your 39 wks(like me) you'll be wanting the baby to come out!

Don't worry you are only 14 weeks, you won't be able to feel movements yet and some people don't get a distinct "bump" til much later on. I was past 20 weeks before any body noticed mine!!
