No. Six Flags has not built any parks from the ground up in over 30 years. Almost all of their parks were bought out from other owners.

Around the late 90's Six Flags went on a huge park-buying spree, getting itself into massive debt. In the last few years they've had to close down or sell numerous parks (mostly in Europe but a couple in the US), so Six Flags will not be acquiring new parks anytime soon.

Just go to Holiday World, Cedar Point, or Six Flags in Chicago instead. :-)

I'll have to agree with sgp19 about the Six Flags issue since I know that they closed Astroworld in Houston not long ago. It looks like the "big" parks will be on the periphery, such as King's Island near Cincinnati and Kentucky Kingdom in Louisville.

Holiday World looks to be a good attraction for the money, but it's quite a distance south. If you're north of Indianapolis (as I am), there's Indiana Beach in Monticello. It's not super large, but it makes for a good day outing. Just thought that I add that to the Indiana parks list.

As soon as Indiana takes over Illinois, there'll be a Six Flags in Indiana. It'll be located in Gurnee, Indiana, about 25 min north of Chicago. :-)
