I would guess it is referring to a T-square or tool used to make sure floors and roofs are level. A carpenter or handyman or someone in construction or even furniture or cabinetry making might be able to confirm this for you.

i think that it comes from the taylors back in the day and instead of saying it fits like its taylor made they say it fits to a t. I dunno but it sounds good to me.
