All the above answers are the hard way to get the job done.
Get yourself down to Halfords (or if 1 isnt available, any large shop speacialising in Car stuff) get yourself a tin of 'Garage Floor cleaner' I can recall the brand names, but this is the stuff you need.

Just put the gloo over the oil stain, walk away for 30 mins, throw a bucket of cold water over the stain and hey presto! no more oil

10 points please :D

Comet (the green can, household cleaner, ... powder) sprinkle it over the oil, then get a can of Coca Cola, and pour over the spot with the comet.... that should break it up enough to scrub up using a wire brush .... like a grill brush....
sounds crazy..... but works very well...
be sure t5o get a hose and spray the soda off the drive so the ants don't invade.... lol

I need the right answer to this too: My car drips and my wife bought the blocks. Steam cleaner, jet wash, Gunk and caustic soda all don't work. Coke, Cillit-Bang etc. are acids and will crumble the surface of the block. I haven't got a local Halfords - garage floor cleaner should be right if I could get it.

Sounds bonkers but try some ordinary kitchen degreaser or Fairy Spray for the baked on stuff for dishes. Just be careful of any plants and the runoff! Not sure what it would do to them!

Try oven cleaner. Let it soak then rinse it w/a hose. Or try some automotive degreaser. just watch out for the pets.
