Chickens don't have talons. They have claws or nails. They are about 3/8 to 1/2 inch long and are used basically for scratching in the dirt or for fighting, as well as allowing them to grip limbs when the perch in trees.

Not sure what you mean. The male chicken, a rooster, has one spur on the back of each leg. These are for fighting off other roosters and protecting their hens from predators and man can they hurt you! They can be quite the fighters and this was the draw for rooster fighting, an illegal gambling "sport".
