Ok....once u get a positive on the ovulation stick does that mean you should have intercource NOW up to three days?

Is it necessary to test twice a day and why would u do this?

What if you test neg in the am and positive in the pm is that possible?

It is possible to continue testing even if you got a positive? WHOA! THANKS

It doesn't matter if you get a positive in the morning or evening. Either way, it means your body is getting ready for ovulation. If your cycle is normal, it means you'll ovulate in 12-48 hours. So, the best time to have sex is in the next 6 hours (in case it's the 12 hours) and again in 36 hours (in case it's closer to the 48 hours).

You only need to test once a day. Any time *except* first thing in the morning is what is recommended.

You can keep testing if you get a positive, but it usually won't give you any real information (but see next paragraph). If you're having a normal cycle, you may get one more positive, then negatives.

One of the most common reasons for the ovulation kits to be "wrong" is that sometimes a woman's body prepares for ovulation (remember, this is what an ovulation kit tests for), then "changes its mind" and doesn't ovulate. She may then ovulate a few days or even weeks later--but by then the woman has stopped testing and missed the second LH surge.

For this reason (and others), it is better and more accurate to chart signs of fertility rather than depend on ovulation kits. For information on charting, read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler. (Charting is also free.)

Ok....once u get a positive on the ovulation stick does that mean you should have intercource NOW up to three days? Ideally, you should be having intercourse at least every other day for five days prior to your ovulation.

Is it necessary to test twice a day and why would u do this? For alot of people once daily is fine. Not for me. I would miss my surge if I didn't test twice daily.

What if you test neg in the am and positive in the pm is that possible? yes, that is definitely possible.

It is possible to continue testing even if you got a positive? You can, some people will get a positive for more than one day.

I, too, recommend temping & charting. www.fertilityfriend.com is a great site. I use temping and OPKs together. The OKP will tell you when you are about to ovulate and the charting will confirm that you did ovulate.

I also second the recommendation for Toni Weschler's book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility". IMO, it should be required reading for every woman of child bearing age. I was amazed at what I didn't know about the way my own body functioned!

once you get a surge in LH then its telling you that ovulation is comming up... may that be today or the next two days...no you dont have to test 2 times a day but i found it best to do it in the middle of the day( it works better for me) once you have a positive you dont have to test anymore but you can if you want just to make sure.
