I have looked at arial photos of Pripyat in Ukraine with Google Earth and noticed a strange phenomenon of what appears to be white shards of light in Northwestern Pripyat? If you use Google Earth, or have a mapping program that you can access places via their Latitude and Longitude coordinates, they are:

Lat=51.4130659252, Lon=30.0426800957

The place looks like a grey rectangle pointing from Northwest to the Southeast and it's directly west of the enormous square dirt area with the bottom chunk missing.

Within the grey rectangle there are four long bright shards at the bottom and several other shards around the rectangle. The rectangle almost looks like a parking lot.

Do you know what this is?

Actually this is on the opposite end of the city from where the Sarcophagus is located, so I can't see how exactly it could be tied to the reactor.

I couldn't verify the coordinates, but from what you tell, that sounds like you describe what is left over of block 4 of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant which is next to the (ghost-)city Pripyat.
