Only a full Title search may be able to locate the lien holder.
Any Title company can perform this, for a fee.

If a lien holder does not remove the lien when paid in full, welllllllllll.
they are open for a helluva law suit.

To whom did you pay off the balance of the mortgage, lien?
Try them.

If you have a lien on the house, go to one of the credit places like Equfax and get your credit report, that should tell you who has the lien on your house.
