Yeah..its free...
Files to download that are virus free tend to be...mp3...mpeg..avi...files. These,in case you dont know, are music and video files.
Steer clear of asx files..zip files....and any mov files that show the same size....cos these are crap at the very least and most problably viruses
If you download programmes make sure you virus check them before opening.....do this by dragging them onto the desktop and then right click scan for viruses.....
For mp3's a bit rate of 128 is adequate as this is CD quality....look at the gile size before downloading..if something is 197.7 k...its usually a virus or an advert.....use common sense decent mp3's are usually over a meg at least...hope this helps
email me on illustratorhalt@yahoo.co.uk if you want any more explaination

Here you can find a good place where to download Limewire: http://bit.ly/1lOKb7Z
Limewire is good software i still use it to this day. I really like Limewire, I'm actually an avid user of it. If I want to download a music file I use Limewire always. If you are looking for a good peer to peer software to download music, softwares/programs and videos you should get limewire too.
It's a safe and reliable pogram but like all peer to peer program you have to be careful of what you are donwloading from it. It does not matter what P2P program you use, you always have to be cautious about what you download.
Don't use torrents/downloads from other sites, they might be backdoored.

you can download anything that other limewire users are willing to share.
and by ANYTHING, i literally mean anything
1. Do not download aything that is less than 10 KB... they are viruses or trojans.
2. have a good antivirus and antispyare software running on the background while downloading stuff, that'll prevent any attacks.
3. change the settings in limewire such that no external searcher has access to all files/folders on your computer.
4. be careful when downloading files with extension EXE, CAB, BIN
thas all that i know of

Be wary of downloading anything from Limewire, in fact my advice is to uninstall it fast and never touch it again. It's a haven for sickos who put massive numbers of viruses and trojans on the site under innocent names. I had to completely reformat because I had Lime wire and will never go near it again. There are whole internet forums dedicated to slagging this peer file sharing site off, you don't just have to believe me. A quick search will turn up some of them...just typw Limewire probs and you'll be inundated with links.

Limewire is a peer to peer program. When you download something, you are actually getting from another user of limewires computer. So you can get just about anything, that includes loads of spyware and viruses.
Beware!!

yes it is free, but your downloads are incredibly limited, your speed is slow, you should download the full version from within limewire, and yes you can dnld films, but ignore the licencing warning, surley they dont expect those to stop you from enjoying your pirate version of the devil wears prada
*edit* the viruses only get in from downloading programs, so stay away from those, only download music, movies, and porn, but no programs

Yes, it's great.... there is not a big variety of films yet but they do have them, it takes longer to download a movie and video ya know, so just be patient and always preview to see if it is working or not.. .. They have all the music you could ever want.... have fun....
