some of you are absolutely insane. penn state in the NC? hmmm...last i checked they have a QB who had never started a game and his first road start is AT NOTRE DAME. look for zbikowski to light him up early.

Auburn? i will give you irons as a great back, but Cox is awful.

Whoever said usc- he needs to go back to where he was 5 years ago.-rooting for no one b/c usc sucked.

Army and Navy are traditional games. ND has something called tradition(something you might not know of) and has supported the millitary academies throughout it's time. so go play youngstown st. or central michigan or some I-AA team and claim your schedule is tougher.please

Ha, Michael D. Miller’s answer is priceless. Despite being an ND hater, he makes a good counter-argument to the baseless claim that Notre Dame’s schedule is somehow below average. Let’s see, he mentioned Michigan, Michigan St., USC, Penn St., but there’s also Georgia Tech (in Atlanta), UCLA (who went 10-2 last year), and possibly even Purdue in terms of challenging games. Not to mention there are no games against any teams from the MAC, C-USA, WAC, Big East, or Sun Belt, much less I-AA teams. It’s a tough schedule, but Notre Dame acquitted themselves pretty well against a tough schedule last year. Poor Mr. Miller, his inferiority complex is painfully obvious in that he has to resort to name-calling in an attempt to discredit the Irish, how childish.

As far as National Championships go, Notre Dame certainly has the potential, what with Charlemagne at the reins, and Brady Quinn leading an explosive offense. The defense is…spotty, but with Tommy Z., T-Laws, and Victor Abiamiri, they shouldn’t do too poorly. As far as who they would play, OSU certainly is a possibility, though they do have a tough Big Ten schedule and that game in Austin. I think it might end up being West Virginia just because WVU plays a cake schedule (look it up before you start yelling at me) and they are a pretty good team. So I guess as of August, I’d say Notre Dame-West Virginia in Glendale.

As an Ohio State fan, I would love a rematch with Notre Dame. Charlie Weis will most likely be much better prepared for the bowl game, and should probably take Tressel and the Buckeyes more seriously. And spanning down throughout the teams, I think Notre Dame's offense might pose a threat to a younger defense. Quinn. and Notre Dame's offense is comparable to Ohio State's as well. Both have heisman hopeful QB's, solid recievers and backs, and they both have pretty good linemen up front. It will come down to defense should both teams play each other. Ohio State will have to get past an away game at Iowa. the perennial Michigan game, and you can't forget the Texas game in the second week. Should they get by those, I'd say they will be at the National Championship game. And Notre Dame is pretty overdue for a bowl win, so I'm pretty sure this year's team can use that to their advantage.

that's purely his lame attempt to assuage Notre Dame followers and tutor his loyalty. He has picked Notre Dame to win each and every sport for the previous decade against USC, yet hasn't gotten one perfect. ESPN places up with it and particular encourages it with the aid of fact it creates controversy and boosts their rankings. Is there the different reason we'd be speaking concerning to the nationwide championship at this think approximately the pre season? Notre Dame has been a perennially mediocre team for the previous decade yet Holtz possibilities them each and every time. no person is that stupid, that's in basic terms a rankings booster.

First of all, Notre Dame will not make it to the National Championship. My Florida State Seminoles will be in the National Championship this year, and we will beat any contender who step up to us in the National Championship game. Don't get me wrong I like Notre Dame chances, just because they have Charlie Weis, and also they have a Heisman Canidate in Brady Quinn. But I think they will finish the season rank #4, and win the bowl game that they play in.

I have some bad news for you: Nutter Dumb is not going to the National Championship game this year. They have to play Michigan, Penn State, and USC along with making a trip to East Lansing.

I look for Penn State and USC in the BCS Titile Game

ND will make it they were 1 play away from Beating USC last year and it was a bull**** play. I Don't know who they will end up playing and I really do not care because they will win. My money would be on Ohio State but not sure and ND will win either way.

Anyone saying they wont make it is ignorant and depressed there team can not compete with ND

Farting Amish get beaten at least 3 times this year. Until you can beat Michigan State (who's won 7 of the last 9 against the Amish), don't even consider throwing the national championship talk around in South Bend Over.

Well ND won't be in the National Championship game but if they were they would play Ohio State again...and Ohio State would crush them just like they did last year. Sorry bandwagon ND fans :)
