If its not the bulbs, check the fuses, if they are ok, your going to have a hard time figuring out where the wires are cut. Get some 14-16 gage wire and try running it from the fuse box back to where the tail lights and see if they work. If they do then you need to either find the spot where the wire is cut or run a new wire. Electrical problems are one of the biggest pains the a** to fix.

Three things to check.
Bulb sockets for corrosion-Remove bulbs and clean if corroded
Fuse for brake lights-Look in owners manual. Inspect fuse and replace if necessary
Brake light switch-Find switch, usually near brake pedal or master cylinder. Remove the two wires and connect then together. If lights come on, replace switch.

If the bulbs and fuse are OK you can check the break switch on the break pedal.(a plunger style switch) but first i would tack a meter and have someone in the car applying the breaks and check to see if you have power to the lights. You could also have a bad ground. hope this helps.

it can either be the fuse, or the switch in steering column, I had the same problem about 6 months ago, and it turned out to be a switch in the steering column that is attached to the blinker switch.

Could be a fuse or a short somewhere...cross your fingers for the fuse. Shorts are hard to find.
