There is no reason to lie. And if you lie you are going to cause yourself alot more grief and won't be trusted for a long time.

The only problem I see that they may have is the age difference.

Good luck!

My dear sweet sisteen,

If only our parents would understand - right!?

You being 16 and him 20 says that you were 14 and he 18 when you met.

While 4 years may not seem like much of a difference to you, it is. To be honest I believe it's actually a crime.
Whats probably going to be weird to you is that I'll bet your bf also knows this fact.

You haven't actually said that race may also be a factor (not that it really matters) but, you make a point to state it. You sound like a very smart young lady. I think that you should stop seeing this Adult man immediately! You probably belive that some things are meant to be right, well wait until your of age and if by then you feel the same at least it will be legal and the only thing you'l have to deal with is the race issue (if it exists). If your bf has a chance to read this - please leave this young girl be just that. It say's something of a man who has interests in a person who a couple of years ago may have still been playin with dolls! Shame.

Young one I know you probably don't like this answer but Im not worried because I know Im right. Please think and care about yourself. Also, your parents care about you thats why you arent listening/acting the way you know they expect.

He belongs in jail and You need to get a new outlook on life. Your parents try and protect you from predators like him but in your innocence He has clouded your judgment. When the time comes for him to make a commitment you will find how wrong you have been. Think of the problems any children the two of you might have will go through. Both blacks and white reject mixed raced children. It is wrong but it is a reality. Could you go through life without children?? If so you will miss something very important. Get your Head together and break it off with the guy.

If you can't tell your parents the truth then you know your wrong and you boyfriend is a perv and must have some serious issues to be with you. So you were 14 and he was 18 when you started going out. You know there must be a problem with an 18 year old man who goes after a 14 year old little girl, the term is pedophile

Don't tell your parents! If it's been working for 2 yrs then don't stress about it, wait until you're 18 then tell them :)

It's not okay but I've been in your situation before and have done the same thing. No harm ever came to it, just don't move too quick in your relationship.

it is never a good idea to lie to anyone, especially your parents.Lies have a way of biting you in the butt.I think 20 is a little bit to old for a 16 year old.It may last a while but when he is old enough(21) to go and do things you can't you will resent it.

I suggest telling your parents, don't betray their trust, you will know why when the time comes. You are only 16 and you have a long way to go so take your time and spend happy times with your family while you can. Good luck always. :)

I think you should tell them the truth. they will find out sooner or later. Its better for them to find out from you rather than someone else. I'm sure if they say you can't see him again you find a way to see him. you have nothing to lose only your parents trust, if you are worried about that now you should of thought of that earlier, even you know that. Good Luck!!

It's never ok to lie to your parents. they are only looking out for you and want the best for you. If he's a good guy, you should be able to introduce him to them.
