Because most people usually don't think that they need to apologize. Most of the time when you have a disagreement with someone it is usually because of a difference of opinions. Unfortunately doing this process someone may become wounded and the other person may be completely unaware of it do to the intensity of the argument. So unless the person who is wounded have a valid reason why a person should apologize. The person may just feel you are upset because you lost an argument.

Saying sorry to someone means that you accept that you have done something wrong.. And there is the problem. The average person refuses to acknowledge their own mistakes making an apology very unlikely.
But anyway I'm sorry

Pride. Ppl talk so much about getting passed it, when in truth, we are what we are. Human. And we have what we have. Which includes pride.
But there's also fear. Fear of the other person not knowing how to accept I'm Sorry. Fear of the other person NOT accepting I'm Sorry. Fear of the other person rubbing it in our faces.
Pride and fear hold us all back on many things. We can say we can get by them, but most of us are too human to even try.

Pride stands in the way for many people, some people seem to associate it with being a humble word and many people out there will never accept they're in the wrong. But there are many people including myself who have no difficulty in saying it.

It's all about the pride. People don't want to admit that they are wrong, even though they clearly are. They'd rather be estranged from their loved ones and be lonely instead of simply apologizing and easily patching up the pain. Everyone is guilty of this.

Because people are afraid of admitting when they are wrong. It is so easy to lie and deceive someone, but when you have to let your pride go and admit you have made a mistake it is difficult.

this society has this whole thing about being tough and not weak. its the same principle when we teach men it isnt acceptable to cry.
its a cultural thing, let me tell you. many other countries dont have this hang up.
I agree though, apologizing could ease a lot of pain and stress.

A sincere apology requires admittance of wrongdoing. Lots of peole find it difficult to take responsibility for their actions.
