Do not spend your money on expensive shaving creams or balms NEVER USE SOAP to shave. The best thing to use is cheap hair conditioner. A savvy shopper can get 10oz for less than $1.00. Conditioner sticks to the skin but not so much that you can't see what you're doing. Use hot water smooth the conditioner upward to make the hair/ stubble stand up. DO NOT USE disposable razors. I've found the best razor is one with at least a twin blade. Shave in the direction of hair growth. Section your leg and work on one area. ex) ankle to knee, knee to thigh and the same thing with the back of legs.
In your case I would recommend spritzing with cold water immediately after shaving to close your pores. Then apply the lotion of your choice.
I would not recommend a a depilatory (Nair, Neet etc) in your case you sound like you have sensitive skin.

i never had this problem. I shave my legs n they always stay smooth. Recently I noticed that my feet looked a bit dry. Everyday before going to bed I applied some oil. U can use castor oil. I was using a mixture of oils - castor, almond, watercress oil. etc... It has become normal and even smoother. Try this for a few months n see. Also avoid shaving ur legs too often. Wen u go out during the day apply a good cream. n sometimes u can wear pants. that protects ur legs. but please dont upset ur skin too much. it's difficult to get rid of those scars in the legs. dont forget to apply oil n let me know if u succeeded. all the best

Well first, you will always see bumps or pours b/c you are either pulling the hair or shaving the top layer. You have to keep your skin moisturized when you do anything to it. That means lotion or something with aloe, to help put what shaving and waxing or whatever has taken away. Nair helps but you should never do too much of anything. johnson and johnson has this gel lotion for babies. you apply after your shower or bath.(most cream or lotions work after a shower) i found it in target in the baby section.

Exfoliate before you shave (try a sugar base or any non salt scrub). After you shave ty using baby oil as soon as you get out of the tub a little goes a long way and that should help with the spots.

Waxing and Nair and all that can work well with removing the hair, but you will need a special cream to firm the skin and to make it look less blotchy. Mary Kay has some amazing products that can help you. Go to www.marykay.com/barbieherndon

make sure the skin is healthy to start with. i like using vasiline instead of lotion because it's richer and heals damaged skin. try other ways to remove the hair, such as the creams and lotions...
oh, there are also some products that are suppposed to minimize hair regrowth, or at least make the hair that comes back finer so that you need to shave or wax less often.

what ever you do .. don't use nair! it hurts and it makes your skin worse. it will also make the hair grow longer and thicker. use a venus razer. that's what i use. it works so good .. and makes your legs smooth without getting a rash. also, u can use lotion after getting out of the shower. that makes legs even smoother. then .. get a tan. you're legs will look hot. if you're not chubby n/e anywayz. i get compliments on my legs all the time. and go to bath & body works and get lotion that smells good.

Are you a male or female? Females should have no trouble if they simply shave their legs to make them hairless and smooth. If you were born female and have not had male hormone injections or medicines, you need to have your hormones checked because it sounds like you have too much testosterone.

Shave your legs again, (but after you shave them), get out of the water and dry them off. Then put lotion on them right after, let dry compeletly and they will be smooth.
