WHY are you reading your Dad's journal ? Honey, go get your diary and give it to him to read. If you invade his privacy, you have no right to your own.

That being said, just remember that while it is almost impossible for your to comprehend this, your parents - BOTH of your parents - are sexual creatures. They like sex - have when they were your age and do now. Probably will for some time. It's not reserved for the young, although the young would prefer to think so.

I don't know whether your father is acting on is impulses (which are reflected in his journal) or if he is just writing them down - but he if it is the latter (just writing them down) then he is only writing down what most males think, day after day after day. Men - young and old - see a woman, and if she appeals to them visually then they think "Wow, I'd like to tap that...." or "I'd like to get a piece of that...." or "I'd like to do her" and so on and so on and so on. If your father is writing it down, well, that's a bit stupid (because look, you found it!) but the fact that he is thinking it is pretty normal.

Men who cheat don't equate that to the necessity of getting a divorce. So if your father is acting or has acted on his written impulses, then he may well not be thinking of divorce. He may still love your mother very much. As a general rule, men separate sex from love. As a general rule, no matter what they say, women do not. Men see sex as "just sex" ....and something that really has nothing to do with love. (There are men who love their wives but "tire" of them and decide they are entitled to sex outside of marriage and are shocked when their wife is not particularly happy or accepting of this idea.)

The question is what do you do now? Do you tell him you read it and suffer his anger ? Do you show it to your mother ? Do you keep it to yourself ? You don't know that he is cheating on your mother, so telling her is premature. If you can't keep your knowledge to yourself, then you have to tell him and talk it out with him.

Sound's like your dad is simply writing down his thoughts and you should be very care full when reading such things. Well I truly believe that one has to respect everyones ideas and property. Your father knows what he is doing and if writing about this other women gets him excited and aroused we can't say for sure that he writes about it b/c he has done anything with her. I doubt he has, he's just fantasizing and I really don't think thats wrong. Theres nothing wrong with looking at other women as long as he doesn't bring one home...don't you think? Don't worry so much about him I think he knows what he is doing and he hasn't been with your mother for this long and hasn't learned something or two about how to treat her and women in general...
