I had the same problem apparently the 206 is renowned for computer errors, But you need to check that the coolant is not leaking out some how, get this done at your local garage

you dont mention if the coolant actually needs topping up, if it does then you have a leak somewhere best go to your local garage andask them to do a cooling systeme pressure test. The internal combustion engine runs best at around 92 degrees centigrade, around this temp the coolant gets rather hot and if your stuck in traffic on a hot day it would soon boil over so we pressurise the sytem as for every 1lb of pressure we use we increase the boiling point of the coolant, most cars are designed to run around 113 degrees centigrade, if your loosing coolant it could be many things indeed from a simple cap at approx five pounds up to a a major engine leak which could be expensive.

i think the fact u have a peugeot indicates u need help ! i bought a 206 in 2001 from new and ive never experienced more problems with a car , from the day i picked it up there were problems problems . Firstly the digital speedo packed in - then my door fell off (seriously it was only a month old) -then when i got my door back on my electric window wouldnt work and eventually shattered inside the door - then my speedo fucked up again - the list goes on . In the end after owning the car for 7 months and having in the garage for 4 months in total for various jobs the manager at pug in wigan called me in to have a chat in his office cause i threatend to get trading standards involved AND HE ACTUALLY GAVE ME NEW CAR !!!!!! ive since seen the light and left french cars behind me forever

Sounds more like a problem with the indicator panel rather than the coolant. Might need a mechanics advice on that one mate!

one of the hoses or the tank itself has most probably sprung a leak. Peugeots have a lot of problems in that area

If you keep filling and it doesn't over flow, it sounds as though you have a leak somewhere. Suggest taking it to a garage to get sorted before something more serious goes wrong.
