I am a guy and lived in an all male dorm in college. I was taking a Speach Communications class and was required to give a "persuasive speech" as part of my semester grade. I decided to "persuade" someone to marry me. A friend of mine introduced me to a friend of his (Kimberlee) from High School and she agreed to help me with the speech by comming to the class and "acting" as my girlfriend. I gave the speech on the topic of "LOVE". In the 20 minute presentation, I quoted Shakesphere, the Bible (Corinthians), and even Hugh Hefner. The speech ended with me on bended knee asking for Kimberlee's hand in marriage which she, as previously agreed upon, accepted. I got a standing ovation from the class, and A on the assignment and a new girlfriend......Kimberlee and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary last month.

If you're talking classics, the top three would probably be Romeo and Juliet, Tristan and Isolde, and King Arthur and Guinevere. All three are "courtly" love tragedies, sweet but to be the one living the story of "forbidden love" sucks in my opinion. To not be with the one you truly love for a lifetime, definitely wouldn't count in my book. I guess, the greatest love story would have to be a lifetime story of love such as "The Notebook". Although I do personally know of a couple which have been happily married for over 60 years. They still hold hands and look at each other lovingly, considering they're bordering on 90 years old, I think that's got to be the best I've ever seen in action!

It is all about my husband and I. We met in high school when I was 15 and he was 16. He has the biggest blue eyes I've ever seen. I knew he was the man I would marry. When he was 18 and I was 17 he left for a year. When he came back it was kind of like I rescued him (because of the situation). We've been together every since and have been happily married for a year with two wonderful children, four dogs, two birds, and 4 fish.(yes I know that is backwards kids before the marriage).

That is the Reader's Digest version. I could type for ever and a day on this subject.

Noah Calhoun and Allie Nelson in the novel "The Notebook" by Nicholas Sparks. Their story is so wonderful, inspiring, and yet sad.

something about a guy named Romeo and a girl named Juliet, a lot of sh*t went on, they married young. she pretended to drink poison and die coz her family wouldnt let her be with Romeo, Romeo saw her and thought she was dead, he took a dagger and killed himself, she woke up when the poison wore off, saw him dead and killed herself with the dagger too.
