I just started playing and don't know if bowlers rely on speed or spin to hit the wicket.

you must be meaning how fast bowlers bowl in cricket.
fast bowlers generally rely on speed, accuracy & bounce off the pitch. the physical make-up plays a part as well. having a good height & strong back is needed to continuously bowl at a fast pace. someone like Sir Richard Hadlee (one of the most sucessfull bowlers of all time, the first to reach 400 test wickets) at his early stages relied on speed. but as he became more experienced (playing more matches ) turned out to be a model fast bowler. that is placing empasis on correct body action, run up, follow through etc.

modern examples include Wasim Akram, Glen Mcgrath, Shaun Pollock & Chaminda Vass. they are different types of bowlers. you have the swing & reverse swing of Akram, the pin-point accuracy & bounce of Mcgrath, Pollock's swing , & Vass uses his wrists to bring in those varaitions in pace. but they have one thing in common & that is perseverance supported by a good action. the records speaks for itself.

fast bowling is an art & its important to find an action that suits your physical attributes. all the above bowlers have found that & success has followed.

There are lot ways of Bowling in cricket. If ur a fast bowler u need speed and the swing/seam to hit the wicket. basically u can take wickets either by bowling fast and accurate or else by seaming or swinging the ball. For everything u need to bowl with a correct line and length.
A spin bowler bowls at lesser speed than a fast bowler. The same thing of line and length applies here also. If u have an ability to turn the ball from the right spot ur a master of spin like Shame warne and Muralitharan.

Shoab Akhtar Bowled the fastest bowl against srilanka to marven atapatu the speed was 160.2 km/h 99m/h
brett lee bowled 58.6 km/h
and obviously fast bowlers rely on speed and bouncers
medium pacers rely on line lenght and the delivery
spiners rely on spin and bounce and also on accuracy
and the tip to bowl fast is to have big run up and run slowly at the start and run faster after it and having good height also helps to bowl fast and the most important every body cant bowl fast so u can start bowling at medium pace

there is no such stats maintained for how fast the bolwers throw!!! even batsmen can at times throw faster than bowlers...but we usually see fast bowlers standing deep...therefore they mostly have powerful arms....i remember the best and the fastest throw was and still is of andrew symonds........thats the answer to ur question.BUT IF U INTENDD TO ASK...that how fast the bowlers bowl than the answer is that they can bowl at any speed they want to.....its such an ambigous question.....and it is not rite to use THROW for bowlers while bowling.though there are some bolers who throw...like murali harbhajan shaib akhtar, malik, shabbir. RP singh, Mc grath, walsh and pollock!! but only few were reported to throw as rest were not asians..thats a different story...will explain later if aasked

The ball can bounce
Googling like ball bouncing when going to batsman it will lower down

The quickest throwing baseball pitchers can throw over 100mph...i think of it quite is 160km/h ok, the pitcher is 60.5 feet removed from th batter (18.44m) and his back foot is on slightly rubber slightly over 25 cm bigger than the place the batter stands.
