I am pretty sure the words are being used interchangably

Rockets are dumb. They shoot off (or out from something) and they come down. Missiles are smart. They go up, they know where to go, and then they go down. For a more intelligent answer, check the site below! Peace!

rockets are usually launch by a bazooka or a RPG,it will go the same direction,missiles are launch by a ship or a launch pad and usually can go wherever it is controlled to go
