My car ('03 cavalier ls) has me raising some concern. While I drive, the ABS brakes, Service, and TRAC off lights come on, then go off after awhile. I asked my brother about it as he goes to UTI in Chicago, and he said it involves the steering wheel. In the steering wheel there's four things that connect to other parts of the car, and the one that connects to the wheel is probably fried. Is that what it is? How much does it cost to fix? Thanks!

it depends on where you take it to get repaired.

At the dealer they will sually charge more. If you take it to a repair shop you might get ripped off, or you might get a great deal.

If your brother is a UTI student, he should be competent enough to make the repair, and if he is employed as a mechanic he should be able to get the part "at cost" from the dealer or you might be able to get it from AutoZone or Pep Boys or something like that.

As for how much it would cost, it really depends on exactly what the problem is, how long it takes the shop to fix it, and how much the part costs.

Thought of asking your brother to fix it?

Look for a regular pattern in them. Like on for one second then blinking severl times.
Count the long "ons" and the short "ons"
if its a pattern its a code that can be used to diagnose a problem. Otherwise, you can go to a shop that has a diagnostic tool that will get codes from your cars computer.

Are all four tires the same size with equal air pressure and wear? That seems to be the common problem that we see here, mismatched tires or one tire low on pressure.
