Redness is generally caused by irritation. Assuming you get enough sleep, the cause might be allergens. (pets, pollen, etc...). If the redness goes away after you wash your face or shower and leave home for a while, that could also be an indication of allergies.
It might be best to visit your doctor.

If your eyes are red because they are dry, try taking 6 capsules per day of Enzymatic Therapy's Eskimo-3. This is fish oil which has no after taste, and your eyes will be moist without any added chemicals, and fish oil is good for your health.
If you have allergies and your eyes itch, use Naphcone A, which can be purchased at any drug store. Never go out into the sun with wearing polarized sun glasses.

Maybe you're dehydrated. Try to drink more water. There are also Visine drops that help with irritated eyes. If they're just like that naturally, then try artificial tears. They have them in the pharmacy section in most stores.
For generally healthy eyes, make sure your have enough luetin in your diet. Hope this helps!
