Why should they wait for FEMA, theise people chose to live there, and knew the risk of living there, and decidered in was worth it.

Why should the goverment provide a free cover all. They set up the program to offer some assitance to help people get on there feel, not to get everything back to normal. It's not's FEMA's job to get things done. It's the residents.

I live in Columbiana County, Ohio. In 2004, we were hit twice by heavy rains and flooding - once in August and again in September. Houses in Lisbon were literally washed away in the August flooding; the Lisbon street department was completely underwater, a bridge was completely destroyed and a brand-new blacktop parking lot was broken into pieces, and that was just a small sample of the damage. The September flooding eliminated any trace of cleanup that had already taken place.

I live in Lisbon, and FEMA rolled into town two weeks after the August floods and were here when the September floods hit. Then they turned around and said that they would only pay for the September damage - THERE WAS NONE!!!! All the damage was from August! A day or two later FEMA decided to pay for August as well, after the mayor, the Governor, our U.S. Congressional Representative and both U.S. Senators raised hell about it.

To this day, FEMA has not paid one dime to the people who applied for money. One lady who lost her house had to show pictures of an empty lot to her bank because they were coming after her for late house payments. Like I said, FEMA hasn't cut a check for anyone in this area in two years.

To answer your question, I doubt it.

P.S. The flooding happened during an election year; John Kerry was traveling from Akron to Steubenville and made a detour to see the damage here. Two weeks later, **** Cheney was closer to Lisbon than Kerry and completely avoided the area on his way to Weirton. What does that tell you????
