MS paint, which is a part of XP, will do that
Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint
Open the tif file
Do a "save as" and right under where you would type the filename is a file type drop down
Change the type to jpg
Save the file

I can understand that when u have photos in you computer certainly u need a soft ware such as editor. O.K my best advise is Photoshop any vertion. U can make any changes like resize or any addition like text or layer impose or any changes u can make. Photoshop can open the photos almost it may be in any format. Just edit as u want and at save option u can check any option to save as Jpeg,Tiff or bitmap and so on. When buy digital camera they also provide useful software which they commonly provide the saving option software of minimum Tiff, Jpeg and Bitmap ..... goodluck.

Yes, there are many good places to find such programs.
Most of them cost or have a limited trial period or limited capabilities.
A few places to download are at www.download.com...
One program I liked that came with the computer was PhotoDeluxe Home Edition. It was slow, and tried to save things as its own executeable all the time, but it was free and had no trial limitations.
Another program I liked was The Easy Graphic Converter.
I found it on www.Graphic-Converter.net. It is a good trial program, but most of it is unlocked anyway. It is pretty good.

Paint does some format change. Load the pic in Paint, clk File / Save AS / give it a name and clk on the down arrow in the file type box. Select the format you want.
Note: Save AS makes a new copy of the pic and the orig. is still there. (so you have to use a different file name)

The "Paint" program that comes with windows will do it. Just open the pic and select "File->Save As". There is a drop down menu in the resulting dialog box that will let you select the format to save in.

Hi,
rAh!L here. I think that you should try photo editing software. Generally Adobe Photoshop will do that for you as its really very good software with reach set of support of different file format. You may try that.

For that you have to do is Open your Image. Then go to Save As and give proper file name and destination of file where it is to be stored. Then select the file type in which you want to save and click save tab. After this Photoshop will automatically convert the type of photo.

MS Paint will do that and you can use it to do basic stuff.

If you want to do more advanced stuff though, I would recommend using 'The GIMP' software. You will find it on www.download.com and it is completely free. It has a lot of advanced features that you would find in apps like Adobe Photoshop and can produce some great graphics. Worth a go!

Yes, most image editing program will do just that. Paint Shop Pro would be ideal if you are not a sophisticated user, but can definitely satisfy your needs if you become one.
