In Italy it won't happen. Al Qaeda lives here, believe me. I'm Italian and i know my Country. All our men in politics are fools and thieves. And also the 50% of the Italians don't believe in Italy but prefer save up cashes and think only about their-selves.
Then a large part of politics's parties like Rifondazione Comunista, Partito dei Comunisti Italiani, Verdi per la Pace and a part of Democratici di Sinistra, they think it's better bring our soldiers back to home, it's better broke with USA, it's better help the muslims than the other people like Judes, it's better build an house and an islamic church in Italy for all the muslims which were ejected from their land because they were a terrorist or poor thieves. With this government and this citizens, Italy is going to become the Europe's headquarter of Al Qaeda. And for this fact in Italy terrorism will never hit us.

There's a good possibility. America is lucky enough to fight wars that do not physically affect the people at home. Apart from Pearl Harbor (which was still not on the mainland) the events on September 11 was the first time the people had to deal with an atrocity of that size. The next attack (if it happens) might not be as bad but I think the terrorists were lucky that day and did not expect the towers to collapse.
To janice h: The war on terror is not just happening "over there". You are forgetting Bali, Spain, England, etc.

September 11 happens every year...if the world doesn't end before the next September 11, then yeah, it will happen again.

September 11 happened because we, as a nation. did not take Arab terrorists seriously enough when they did other acts of terrorism. If we go back to our head in the sand ways it will happen again. Thank God we have people in power who understand this and are taking it to them. I would much rather fight them there than here.

Sadly they seem to plan one every year.
Some think tank said the West is likely to be fighting Islamic Fundamentalists for the next 50 years. Sounds Grim.

Glad we all agree that 11/9 will occur every year but as for the terrorist attack that one is a forgone conclusion. especially if you say anywhere in the world.
they had the bombing in London earlier this year.
Be prepared for more as long as we try to impose our western beliefs on other societies

I wouldn't bet against it, its just a matter of time. Doubt it will be plane strikes the next time though, security is far better since 9/11.
