i get a lot of vendors that come in my work place and im not really interested in buying stuff that is sold door-to-door, i prefer looking for it when i need it. however, i try to be polite enough to let them talk about their products, but they are kinda wasting my time, but i don't want to be rude enough to kick them out. how do i politely decline to their offer before they even start talking so that we both do not waste each other's time? what i usually do is that i let them talk but end up saying i don't have a budget and i would ask for a business card to let them know that i may be interested, just not at the moment. but what do i say when i do not want to purchase anything before they start talking?

Tell them the owner of the business is in a meeting all day but you would be happy to take a card or get their information and pass it along. They don't need to know you are in charge. Good luck!

That is where your problem is. You let them throw their pitch knowing yourself that you have no intention of buying what they are selling. From the begining, tell them you are NOT interested. Say "No Thank You", i'm not interested. I used to be a semi-sucker to those annoying vendors until I got wise and stopped them on their tracks before giving me their long freaking time wasting sale.

I'm sorry, no solicitors. Please refrain from wasting not only your time, but my time as well.
Is usually what I tell them. They get offended and huff out, then I don't have to worry about them for at least another couple of months. I don't hesitate to make people feel bad for wasting my time. Stop trying to sucker me into a car maintenance plan when I do all my own work, and your deal sucks anyway. No, my coworkers aren't interested, NO SOLICITORS.

I think the best way is to say "I'm not interested, please do not waste my time and yours" from the beginning. It might be hard for you the first few times but after a while you'll master it. It really is the best way for both the vendor and you.

Just say "I'm not going to waste your time. We dont deal with cold-call solicitations, but leave your information and if something comes up later I'll be glad to ask for a quote"

Tell them you don't have any money on you. That's it. No one will try to sell anything to anyone who doesn't have money???!!! I understand what you mean. They do that here all the time. And if you say you're not interested in the item, they try to sell you another one.

i understand you situation, it used to happen to me quite a bit. the easiest way is to take control of the meeting right up front and ask if they were called to come into your office, if not, leave your info and we'll call you if we are interested! then show them the door....
by the way, i'd call on you myself based on your pic!!! ;)

put a sign on your door and point it every time they come. and they are rude to you by interrupting your valuable time without an appointment.

"I don't accept solicitations, thank you"
but, but....
"I don't accept solicitations, thank you"
but, I have here the latest marvel......
"Perhaps you didn't hear me the first two times, I don't accept solicitations! Now shall I call the police?"
