It annoys me too, I also hate it when strangers touch their face or hold their hand. Im not trying to be overprotective but you don't know what they have been doing or touching! It's gross & I really wish they would stop it.

It annoys me when strangers touch my baby, period. If it really bothers you just ask people nicely not to touch your baby. People are naturally programmed to love babies--it's nature's way of ensuring that we keep reproducing.

But keep in mind, the baby's head is stronger than you think. If you're worried that someone is going to hurt your baby by rubbing his head then you can stop worrying. Your baby's head is delicate, but it's not as fragile as you think. It would take a lot more than a little head rub to hurt him.

Even though a baby's head is "soft" the brain is still protected by a thick membrane. If touching it hurt the baby, then think about it...you couldn't wash their hair and stuff.
Your concern should be germs and viruses, not the baby's soft head.

I know I will be overprotective when it comes to my baby. I don't want anyone touching my baby unless he/she has washed their hands or put some kind of hand sanitizer on. I don't know what they have been touching. GROSS.
I am very particular on who touches kids. One of my nieces has this long black curly hair that is beautiful. When she was younger people would always want to touch it, It would drive me insane. I don't want your grubby hands touching her hair. The thought of strangers coming up to try and touch my baby, is making my teeth cringe. I think its almost rude. They can complement the baby but don't touch!!

because it is irresistible. when I had babies I thought that anyone 'drawn to' my baby was a sign that he and she were being acepted and receiving a 'gift' from another human being. PLEASE - it is human nature to want to connect with people and i just don't think that 'freaks and pervs' ever reach out to touch a baby...appreciate it....consider it a little blessing that your child was able to touch someone....AND - keep lots of great soggy wet ones so that you can wipe them down when out of the 'handlers' site!!!!

one cute note - when my son was about 6 months old and I carried him in the little shoulder sling - we would walk by people in the grocery store and he would stick out his little hand and arm to 'give people' a wave....more people than not found this irresistible and from 6 months on he was 'hi-5ing' people throughout the stores....it brings a smile to my face to remember how funny this looked!!!!

I don't know why, I've never had the urge to do that to other's babies. I hated when people did that to my daughter when she was a baby, especially people with dirty hands who would leave her hair looking greasy.... Yuck!!!

For good luck. Like rubbing Bhuda's tummy I guess. I've never done it and never allowed it. Tell those people to keep their hands to themselves.

I am 17, and mature for my age.
I have a daughter and I feel what your saying.
I don't allow them too,
because my daughter has a weak immune system,
the slightest germ could jeporadize her life.

tell them politely you dont want anyone to touch unless it is a friend of course...I did not let anyone touch my baby when she was little...I didnt want her to catch any germs...she was born dec 10 so I was afraid that someone would get her sick and she would be too small to fight it off...
