I know it makes you nauseous, but does it feel like the flu? Like indigestion? Like gas pains? And how early does it start? We've been trying for awhile and I'm a few days away from when my period is supposed to start. Is that too early to have morning sickness? Because I woke up at 5 with stomach pains and couldn't go back to sleep and haven't been able to eat anything yet.

All of my morning sickness started before I knew that I was pregnant. With my first, I started feeling really sick about two weeks before I took the test-a full week before my missed my period. At first, I was terrified because I thought there is no way I can spend the next few months curled up on the couch ready to hurl all the time. But, with me, it gets better after the first few weeks and goes away totally by the 16th week. I feel queesy-like I just rode a roller coaster after eating a hot dog-and I'm very tired and either too hot or too cold. I try to take a bath every day (making sure I keep my arms and legs out to control my body temperature) and that really helps. I also get back pain and I like to use a portable heater to blast my back with hot air while I've got the a/c cranked up. Not very energy efficent but when I'm that sick I feel entitled to a little overspending. I ate dill pickles and green olives for ten weeks during my first and dropped twenty pounds almost right away (I had a little extra I could part with so it wasn't a really big deal). Just keep in mind that it WILL end someday and that your baby will take everything it needs from your body before you use it for yourself-so if you feel like crap be assured that s/he is quite comfortable even when you're not!

You first start off with feeling unsually tired, then you can feel sick to your tummy.Yes it could feel like a tummy flu, but it depends on the person. Some cant stand certain smells and want to throw up right away, others just feel a bit sick to the stomach, then ive known a few friends that couldnt even get out of bed because they were so sick. This is usually one of the first signs that your pragnant, usually starts as early as your missed period. Another thing i should add is that you dont necessarily feel sick in the morning either, it can happen at night too, i had what i call* night sickness* with my second pragnancy. If you find that you have morning sickness, try some peppermint tea, it eases the nausea. Take care, and best wishes!

I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my first and I started with morning sickness about 2 weeks after conception and it continued all the way through the 12th week. For me it was a constant state of nausea and mild to severe vomitting on most days. I slept a lot and didn't really leave the house much. I think I lost roughly 14 pounds by the 12th week. Good luck!

Stomach pains usually are not the same as morning sickness. I have a good friend who is a practicing OB and he swears that some women know the day they are pregnant. He says that for some their system is so sensitive they just know. For me, mine comes later, usually in the 6 - 12 week range. My best friend though starts feeling hers at 3-4 weeks, about how far along you would be. Good Luck!

I thought that I had a stomach virus. I was 9 weeks when I found out so I guess the sickness started around 7-8 weeks.

I didn't get morning sickness. My problem was being at the grocery store. Everytime we went grocery shopping, I would be fine right up until the very end. It always seemed like right as we were getting ready to check out, I would get dizzy and nauseous. I would even sometimes have to go wait out side and lay on the bench to prevent myself from passing out. And that started probably somewhere between my 3rd and 5th month.

I had morning sickness my entire pregnancy, which because of vomiting all the time, I lost 25 lbs and had to be put on a feeding tube and carry a bag of liguid around with me till they removed it at 37 weeks. Have you ever had anesthesia? It feels kind of like that. You feel dizzy, and your stomache just rebels. Foods and smells make it worse. Its like having the flu but without the fever, aches and chills. The stomache pains could be from lack of food, and vomiting. It makes your tummy ache if you throw up too much. Hope you feel better. Most people start to feel better around 12 weeks.

I was lucky enough to have them. They can range from constant nauseau and vomiting, to just having an upset stomach or bad taste in your mouth all day.

My sister in law spent days in the bathroom her entire trimester.

I don't know how early it starts, but you may find that smells will trigger the vomiting. She couldn't take the smell of coffee and couldn't stand the sight of eggs.

If you do find this is morning sickness, get yourself ginger tea and look in healthfood stores or online for ginger candy/lollipops. Ginger is about the only thing that's going to help!
