You need to fight the problem from within your body. Drink more water to flush out the toxins. Change you diet. Eliminate junk food and junky drinks! Eat fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Wash your face at least twice a day with a mild soap like Dove(more is better). Don't put anything harsh on you skin. You could dab hydrogen peroxide on the infected pimples until the infection is gone, but the main problem is coming from within your body so you need to solve the problem with your consumption of what you eat. Doing drugs or smoking also puts toxins in your body so eliminate all toxins.

I have also used proactive and liked it.
If you can't afford it, there are several similar products at walmart now; I don't know if they are really comparable, but they might be worth a try.
Another tip, if your skin is oily you might try washing your pillow case frequently, even changing it every day. And, also use a fresh wash cloth on your face each day or use the premoistened cloths.
If your acne is severe you should ask your doctor about it at your next appointment. Don't be shy or embarrassed, doctors deal with that kind of stuff all the time.

I agree accutane is great but trying to get a Dr to prescribe it is almost impossible. Don't back down and be pesistent with your Dermatologist. Also a good cleanser in Aquaglycolic( I use the body/shampoo formula for face and body)

Good Luck! Proactive didn't work for me but different things work for different people. I found that DUAC once daily gel worked wonders. You need a prescription for it. I also tried chemical peels and am now trialing light therapy- will let you know if it works! I also love Ella Bache Revitalsant, it is a skin refining exfoliant- I recommend it to everyone! Good luck!

Neutregena has an excellent one with acne medicine in it. Also you can take vitamins that are made for the skin. Natrol has a good skin vitamin. You have to go and check out both to see which of their products apply to your needs.

if you have sensitive skin like i do, DON'T USE PROACTIV! it makes your skin red and irritated, which then forces your face to make more oil, and then you get more acne. it would instead use St. Ive's for sensitive skin. I t works very well. And maybe even go to your dermatologist to see if they have anything for you to use.

Good Luck!
