no one knows for sure its one of things that when u get there u know u have found it but until then i haven't a clue. the grass is probably greener cos there's no one walking all over it yet

The grass is always greener on the other side refers to something that you want that you don't have. However the reality of it is that if you got the thing you wanted then you would always be looking for something else. It's never quite as good as you thought it would be abd besides...I believe if you really and truely wanted something you would have it already.

The other side's someplace else than where you are, so you can never get to the other side coz as soon as you're there, the other side has moved elsewhere.
The grass will look greener until yer in the middle of it and can see all the details.

the other side is over there where the grass is always greener. If you stand on your tiptoes in the brown grass you can just see it!

Actually, distant grass will always look greener than nearby grass. If you look at the grass around you feet, you see the blades of grass but with a significant amount of dirt among them, due to your top-down perspective. Yet when you look at distant grass, your perspective is nearly horizontal, so all you'll see is the green. I dunno whether this has anything to do with the saying, but it's true.

the grass only looks greener cuz of the light fixture. the other people are cheating: their lawn looks greener, but yours is the only true green on the block!! ;)
