Chinese ginseng (panax ginseng) is an adaptogen. It works to ameliorate the effects of stress on the body. According to
Traditional Chinese Medicine, it is best used as a tonic after the body is cleansed of toxins. Generally speaking, it is very heating and should be avoided if you are a "hot" person and in the summer.

Ginseng is a drug like caffeine. If it does anything, it just makes you feel more energetic for a short time. It has nothing to do with "calibrating" your organs. I don't actually believe organs can be calibrated.
