If you have no significant fat on your tummy, then it should work fine. You're just looking to tone the abdominal muscles. If you have a "pouch" or stored fat there, the ab exerciser will not, on it's own, give you a flat belly. You can't spot reduce - you'd need to also do high intensity cardio workouts to eliminate the fat there.

Some of them will work if you use them the right way, but once you learn how to use them the right way you will see that the device doesn't really do anything. It is still up to you to do the work. The right way involves slow, small movements. Here is one of the best ab exercises I know. Get on the floor on your knees and hands, kind of making yourself into a square, table shape. Arch your back upward toward the ceiling while pulling your shoulders and hips toward each other. Then arch your back in the other direction, pushing your chest toward the floor, raising your hips and shoulders toward the ceiling. Go slowly from one position to the other and hold each for only a count of "one". It's called the Dogs and Cats exercise because you arch your back like a cat first, then bow like a dog that wants to play. You'll notice the pull in your abs and how much control you have of the pull. If you do it in the park, you'll get interested looks. I keep it in the house...
Many abdominal exercises can hurt your back, including some of the motions that AbSmasher-whatever exerciser thingies put you through, but this is mostly because of trying to do the movements too fast or without control.
Take a look at this site:
Egoscue. com
The exercises are mostly for posture, but they also strenthen most of your core muscles as well.
In between exercise times, let your tummy relax and breathe deeply and normally throughout the rest of your life.
Humans are not really supposed to have flat bellies.

I got an Ab Wheel. It costs ten dollars and works AWESOME. Plus a bunch of my family uses it and loves it and thinks it works great as well. You only do 20 (two sets of ten) ab wheel rolls per day and in a month you will be starting to develop a six pack! I guaruntee it!!

That depends on if you've got a lot of flabby muscle on your belly or if it's fat. If you're just out of shape, definitely. If you've got a layer of fat on your belly, you can do 800 crunches a day and have a six-pack, but it won't be visible. You'll lose some weight and up your metabolism, but you need to add in cardio and proper diet to get to where the muscles are visible.

send it back, waste of money. People need to know that cardio and eating less fat are the way to great abs.
