Are you using Outlook or Outlook Express at home? You can do it with either of those, but not web based mail (yahoo etc)

It's never possible to ensure you receive a receipt when someone receives and/or opens an e-mail you send.
This is because the recipient or the recipient's e-mail server would have to send something back to you to tell you. They might not want to - after all it's up to them what they send, not you...
Microsoft Outlook makes you think it's possible because it's a default feature in that program - but you can switch it off.

If you are using Outlook, go to tools, then options, then preferences, then e-mail options, then tracking options. You will then see two boxes labelled Read receipt and Delivery receipt, just ensure that one or both are ticked.
I hope this is helpful.

Depends on what software you are using. In Outlook Express, create your new message and then from the Menu Bar select 'Tools'. From the drop-down list select 'Request Read Receipt'.

Are you talking about a confirmation when the reciepient opens your email? If so, then that depends on which Email client you are using....
I use Novell Groupwise so I can notify myself once the intended recipient received and opened the messeage (email). I do this when composing the email itself. There's options available there..
I need to know what your email client is (ie Outlook, Groupwise, etc.) so I can give you a better answer.
