Your right Red.... greed by some people never ceases. I've seen enough pictures of the WTC where I don't need to go watch some ficticous bunch of BS that someone is making a fast buck on. They can shove that flick where the sun don't shine. They can hate us both for not going to see it.

Actually, the director is Oliver Stone, who would be the last one anyone would expect to produce a "pro-US government" movie.

I hear it's just the story of the people involved in the rescue and there's no politics.

You're not un-American for expressing your opinion. People have a right, and a duty, do do that.

I don't plan to see it because I just don't want to re-live it. No disrespect to the people who went through it, but it's just so upsetting. I saw Flight 93 and it was like I was right there in the plane. A well-made film, but extremely difficult to watch.

Nationalism? All I can say is that no country is perfect. Far from it. I think we have it really good here (US), though.

Oh well . . .

of course not . I tried to find some good about this movie , I just assumed the proceeds would go to the effected ones of 9/11 . I found a little tiny donation that will be made , this is so pathetic it makes me sick

"Four September 11 charities will receive 10 percent of box office receipts for the first five days of director Oliver Stone's new movie "World Trade Center, the charities said on Wednesday. "

first 5 days? 10 % ? how about atleast 50 % of all profit made on the movie

This is not your traditional Hollywood movie. It is being released at a time to help the Republican party in the mid-term elections by dragging up 911 the way they always do when the Right-wing wants to shame people into supporting them. No matter what stupid thing they pull, they always try to refer it back to 911. Doesn't the timing of this movie suggest to you that it is politically motivated by and for the Right? Of course they want you to feel guilty and "Un-American", it is part and parcel of their program, don't buy into it.

I think the American part of you is in making your own decision to go see it or not. I think it is everyones own right to choose. I personally dont think it is their way of making a buck, but I think it is coming out now to refresh Americans minds about the terrorists attacks and make Bush look better and draw attention away from what is happening in the world around us. But... I hear it is a great movie.

Simply because the movie came out doesn't mean you need to go see it.

I'm of the opinion that it will not be a truly accurate accounting of what happened, merely hollywoods version of the truth.

Not un American at all. Just a movie... Just don't forget 9/11, and what we mustdo to fight the war on Terrorism, or it will get worse.

It's your right to not see this movie! I don't care to watch 9-11 shows either. It's too much of a sore spot and I don't like the idea that people are making money off of this horrendous tragedy!!!!

I don't want to see it either. Only because I don't want to relive the feelings I had after.
Also, I don't want to get mad if it doesn't make me have feelings because that would mean that hollywood is truly just trying to make a buck.

Definitely not. I don't plan to see it but mainly because"true story" or "ripped from the headlines" isn't my kind of genre. I go to movies purely for entertainment. I watch History Channel, Discovery, etc. when I want reality. Don't give it another thought.
