Brazil uses 2 MB of oil per day. The US uses almost 20 MB. Brazil has more biomass than the US.

Where will the US get the biomass to produce enough ethanol? Would you rather eat or have ethanol for your car?

Should we do some ethanol? Sure, but drilling in more sites and expanding refinery capacity would provide more energy.

It has been happening for a long time. You should read up on the work of companies like Cargill and Archer Daniels Midland, and the subject to biotechnology. The Archer-Daniels power plant in Decatur Illinois even shreds and burns waste rubber tires to cut its dependence on fossil fuels.

Petrobras company of Brazil is a major power in petroleum production. Brazil has done a great job in producing and using ethanol from sugar cane (even though some of it is said to be done in the vast outlying areas with slave labor).

Welcome to 2006 - we have been using ethanol in Wisconsin for years, where the heck have you been? Oh that's right, you're a liberal, your head has been up your butt for a long time...

Our gasoline is 10% ethanol already and has been for years. Also, we have ethanol stations that have a blend that is 85% ethanol, but the vehicles need a special engine for that.

So detached from reality, life is so much easier in your world, where you only have your delusions to keep you company...
