The company I work for was just bought by another. I will be without a job in about a week and all the new positions I have applied for have not responded yet back to me. I don't mean to be a cry baby but I feel really down right now and I just wanted to get some encouraging words. Please be nice.

I am 21 and a single mother of a 2 year old. I am doing it all alone. I don't get any financial help at all. I do without a lot of things just to make my sons life better. I have had the same problem as you, just with a little more to worry about. I can tell you though, It is not easy, but another job will come along... You don't have to wait on companies to call you back!!! Show some initiative and call them back!!! it is worth the effort, and you will most likely end up with a job you like!!! Give it a try... you don't have much to loose at this point. I am sure you will be fine.

When one door closes, another one opens! It is going to work out. Do not wait for them to call you, it is okay to call them! Start looking for another job right now so that you can have a head start. If you have to go on unemployment for a little while in between jobs, that will be okay too. I get stressed out over money and my husband makes very good money. So do I. I am an office manager and I do Passion Parties...But as the saying goes, the more you make, the more you spend. Just try and put something aside so you will be prepared while you are between jobs. Something WILL turn up soon. Keep the faith!
Good luck to you.

It's ok. You will get through this hard time. Apply at some temp agencies so at least you will have money coming in and you will be out the door working right away. This will really boost your self-esteem. When you are temping companies are great about being flexible and letting you take time off for interviews.
Also, work with a recruiter regarding permanent jobs. It will make the whole interviewing process a little easier than just applying for new positions on your own.

I hope it all works out for you. I know it will! Take care!!

Awwww!!! I feel sad for you. Whatever your age is, just lie low for a week and chill out . Then afterwards apply in jobsites and then wait anxiously. Ooh!! while you are bored, try and take up a hobby or start preparing for interviews and stuff so that you'll be ready if any one contacts you for a job. Sorry for you again! Now perhaps you'll get a better job which might pay more than your previous job.

With a computer at home and internet connection, you can start earning from home, without any investment. You should choose your work at home job according to your skills and time available.
The simplest work at home job is answering phone calls for companies like WorkathomeAgent, Alpine Access, Liveops. You will need a quiet enviroment at home without any disturbance. To apply you will have to complete an online application form on the companies website . A list of companies with websites is available at

Well girl, if you are qualified for the jobs then you will get a call back. As long as you keep trying and keep looking you will find a job. You might have to settle for a less paying job, but you'll be able to rise up again. Just keep that chin up.

This is a big unexpected change, but think of it as a positive change that will allow you to move on to something better. Either a better job, going back to school, or starting your own business.

Go back to all the new positions and enquire about your application. Your initiative will show them you are interested in the job. Go back a few times if need be, be persistent. Sometimes you have to prove yourself, and by your persistence it shows confidence in your abilities, maybe they are waiting to see that. Good luck!
