Israel has the puppet master's string because as much as the Right in this nation does not want to admit there is still religion in government. This nation was founded on Judea Christian tenants. One of those being to honor and bless Israel. that is why the US has always supported, supplied, and trained the Israelis to to the type of butchering in Lebanon. It matter not that the key to Israel's fighting ability comes from America. They know Uncle Sam will never have the back bone to cut off the supply line, to turn off the tap. Second is Uncle Sam doesn't want it to appear to the evil terrorist(or those they so label)and the Muslim extremist that they are not shoulder to shoulder with Israel even when Israel is wrong. Because it will look as if the US de facto support the Islamic call by looking the other way. This government in spite of what is says with its mouth, still has the stain of Christian religion in it(which is not bad so long as they are not hypocrites about it) Because they have ignored Sub Saharan Africa all this time, but now that Muslim based factions are trying to set up camp. Uncle Sam all of a sudden seems to know they are there. Go figure?

The same reason the Arab world can't control groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, Al Qaeda, Fatah, and others. They don't want to.

What would you have told Israel if they said after 911 you can't do anything about the attack? Myself I'd say why don't you do a lemming impersonation.

Why can't the US control Lebanon? They are the ones that have been allowing Hezbollah to stay there and stay armed?

Why should the US be the ones to control things? The world gets mad at the US any time the do anything or don't do anything. We can't win so why try?

I think that the USA is not in charge of "controlling" other nations.
If that were the responsibility of the USA, who would you suggest control the USA? Would it be okay with you if say China came over and controlled our election process because they think they are better at it then we are?
We don't own the world. We are only one player on the planet, and we do not have the right to force our laws, political opinions, or beliefs on any of the other players. Same as we don't want to be forced to obey the laws of other nations.
I don't know what to tell you about the money theory. Greed is often a factor in the decision making process, but I'm not sure that it would really apply to this issue right now. You should go exploring in the link below. There is a whole lot more going on over there than what we see on TV.

America can't flip-flop on anything. Way too risky. Especially when it comes to a country that was attacked first. America can only sit and wait. Basically, the weaker Islamic extremists just want to stay in power, so they try to support each other against anything that is affiliated with America. The more ambitious ones just want to wipe out anything that isn't Muslim across Africa, the Middle East, and in other regions. They want a vast Islamic Empire. All these groups are convincing common Muslims to fight so that pro-American governments don't strengthen and dash their hopes. It's all a scam. As long as those power-hungry people brainwash the Muslim citizens, there will always be terrorism against the Israelis, and America will be trapped fighting Iraq until Congress becomes Democratic and stops funding the war.

Middle east conflict has been taken to an extent beyond lip sympathy. Will the UN intervene? Will the right thinking democracies intervene? If not, the day is not far off when a rebellion will take place against USA for supporting Israel in its continued destruction and killing of Innocent people? Terrorists also will have to understand that their fate also lis the same.

because while people talk about Israel and other countries being puppets of the USA, they actually aren't so much puppets as they are influenced by US opinion.

Israel relies on US backing, US supplies and individuals in the US for funding. So they care very much what the US thinks. However, they are still their own country. Unlike the Soviet Blok from the Cold War era, the US does not run these countries behind closed doors. They can only heavily influence them. Israel must still decide her own fate and make her own decisions.

Anyways, reciprocate monetary investments is just a very small factor in this equation. There is a lot of feudal history in the region which has given us this perpetual war that is also a good market for conventional weapons in large US reserves.

This war also serves as a good distraction for the Bush Administration. As the worlds focus is on the middle east the Neo-Con Agenda moves forward.

Neither country controls the other. Both live in harmony. Israel supplies the USA with much of its military software. Israel also invented the cell phone and Firewall plus a great deal more especially in the medical field.
