The probability of becoming pregnant under normal and healthy circumstances per month is 25%. That means that after a year 85% of the healthy couples are pregnant and 15% are not. Some couples are lucky and it happens right away.
It has nothing to do with how long you took the pill. You literally have only a few hours per month in which the egg can be fertilized. So you have to have intercourse at the right time and if possible also before ovulation, because the sperm cells life longer than the egg.
In order to find the right time of the month you can buy an ovulation kit. It measures the so called LH hormone (when it peaks) and this peak or LH surge indicates that you are about to ovulate within the next 24 hours.

Good luck.

Generally it doesn't take very long because the ovulation will take place very quickly however it is advised that you not get pregnant for at least 3 months after coming off the pill. But because you are ovulating so quickly it usually doesn't take long..However if you are uptight about becoming pregnant that can and will slow things down for you. Just relax and let things happen. I have heard that being intimate on the 9th and 10 th day after the start of your period is a good time to become pregnant. Now there is no strong evidence to back that up but it is worth a try. However relax and things will happen. Good luck

I was on the pill for over 8 years, my doctor said not to try for at least 3 months. The doctor also told me to take pre-natal pills, or folic acid and calcium, this will help prevent having a child with spina bifida. I was pregnant within 8 months. I thought that it might not happen, but as soon as my mind was elsewhere, surprise!

The hormones from birth control pills leave your body with in 48 hours after stopping the pill. And it's totally safe to start trying to concieve after than...that is straight from my OBGYNs mouth.

I got pregnant 2 weeks after I went off the pill.

Good luck.

I have had one friend who was on the pill and it took her 3 months then i had another friend who was on the shot and she has been off for 2 years and still has no period. I would wait 3 months and then get an ovulation kit.

We got pregnant while on the pill.

It could take several months. What's the problem with trying many times?

You should give your body three or four cycles before trying to conceive. Let your hormones balance out naturally.
