Depends what size house....and what you're building it from!!

the average is $100 per sq. foot so figure out the size of the house you want and do it, this is the cost to you typically if you have someone build it for you. If you're doing it yourself, you could be looking at around $65 to 75 per sq. foot. The actual cost of materials could be a lot less but you have to consider the labor which is a large part of the actual process.
Good luck

It would depend entirely on the scale of the house as to how much materials cost, it also depends on the area, in a region where house building is extremely popular at the moment the prices of materials can soar. remember also materials aren't your only cost, you need warrants and planning etc

The size of the house and what part of the country you are building in determines the price.

I know that here in Oklahoma it cost about $85 per square foot to build a house.

Look at the housebuilders bible by Mark Brinkley. He gives various break-downs of costs. eg 4 bed detached £80,000 - £160,000. The costs are double if you go for the "best" of everything but you do not add value to the house!! These costs include labour so you could probably take 1/3 to 1/2 of these costs. You look like a keen DIYer!

the price is going up all the time, i know someone that built their own back in early 80s for £15k but that was a lot back tehn and raw materials were in the £1000s, rest was manpower

now that they have made an industry out of it, u are talking big money and unfortunately u need certificates for everything, u need inspectors and needs to be built to standards specifications planning permission - everyone takes their part of the pie

its all part of the 'full employment' dream bubble that hitler dreamed up and most governments in western world still use elements of to this day,

the answer to your question about £115k for a decent sized house including land, £180k including manpower if u know people

What a stupid question (your not ready to do any building)
My dad built a dolls house for my sister once try starting there!
Maybe show some plans or ask a QS or an arcuitech!
You could spend £40,000 or £500,000.

You may be able to get someone to build your proposed house for free, but you need to pay a quantity surveyor for the estimation of materials and etc.

According to my homeowners insurance, the builder's cost to rebuild my house from the ground up would be about $80,000, but my house is small.
