No, according to the naming pattern you exhibited above, a marathon runner would be a marathoner. If you're trying to be funny, you should have said "is a runner in a race a racist".

Nope. You would just call him or her a marathon runner or as another answerer said, "a marathoner." Most common usage would probaby just be "runner." Or "he is an avid runner." Have a happy day.
