My favorite Yankee at this point is definitely Matsui, he plays hard and I actually felt bad for him when he got hurt.

I encourage fans of neither team, to choose one player from each team.

If I HAVE to choose one, it would be Derek Jeter.

BUT I just can't stop thinking about that Red Sox game last night! I look forward to watching the whole game, even if we're behind, I never lose faith in them cause they have what it takes to come thru when needed!!

LOVE THEM RED SOX!!

Like so many other people here, I used to like Johnny Damon. My favorite Red Sox player now is David Ortiz. I LOVE the Yankees, but how could you not like Big Papi? Besides his game winning hitting, he seems like a really nice guy, and a fun guy as well. In the Parade before the All Star game, he really seemed to be having so much fun.

I'm a fan of neither team, but I'm going to answer this question anyway:

Yankees - Alex Rodriguez. I know, he's having a bad year, he doesn't win titles, he's overpaid, blah, blah, blah. He's also one of the greatest players of our generation, I never hear about him doing stupid things off the field, and he's fun to watch play.

Red Sox - Manny Ramirez. I've liked this guy since his Indians days because he's a fantastic hitter. Great patience, nice stroke, and serious power. In a lineup that has some good hitters, I still feel he's the most dangerous. I also like the aloofness he sometimes has, just because it's funny. This guy is a guaranteed HOFer, and Red Sox are lucky to watch him play every day.

Red Sox fan here.
I like and always have liked Mariano Rivera. Nobody has dominated his position like he has for such a long time. Every time the Yankees & Sox play, he's the one I hope shows up on the injury list... Sign of respect. While he's not quite the overpowering figure he once was, he's still a top 5 closer in the game.

Favorite Yankee is Bernie. Favorite Red Sox is Manny Ramirez.
My Indians stink this year... I'm already moved on to NFL training camp...

Huge Sox fan, and Jeter is my favorite Yankee...

As much as I hate to see him coming up late in the game, he plays the game right, leads on the field and off and comes through when you need him...I don't have to like him, but I have to respect him...

Most of the rest are punks (sorry...had to...reflex)

Good question...

Fan of neither (I think they both blow goats).

Favorite Yankee has always been Bernie Williams.

Sorry, I have no favorites on the Red Sux. Early painful and humiliatingly funny deaths would be too good for that ilk.

David Ortiz. The man is a monster at the plate. He's the best clutch hitter in the game right now. Leads the majors in home runs and rbi and game winning hits. If he gets his average over .300 he'll be a pretty good candidate for MVP.

Big Papi is one of my favorite to see him bat especially when its the 9th inning against the Yankees M. Rivera on a bases loaded, with a full count

Thats a hard question to ask a red sox fan, but I have to admit that I really like Bernie Williams. It seems like he's been there forever and as always done his job well...very dependable
