I'm not pregnant, but I did smoke while pregnant. I tried my hardest to quit and suffered severe withdrawl. Depending on how severe the addiction, cold turkey isn't always best. I was told that because I smoked, my baby could have a low birth weight and/or be premature. There are other things that affect the health of your baby besides smoking. I was loyal to my prenatal pills and ate very healthy food. Aside from the smoking, I did everything I could to assure a healthy baby. My son was born a week and 1/2 past due date and was 9 lbs 2 oz.

Well, I'm not pregnant anymore, but I was a pregnant smoker.. DON'T JUDGE ME. I smoked about a pack a day before I got pregnant.. and when I found out my son was coming.. I tried SOOOO hard to quit.. I got stressed out.. and my blood pressure shot up.. The withdrawl was affecting the health of my baby. No word of a lie..... I was under observation with daily ultrasounds.. By the time I was 5 months.. I had 2 cigarettes a day. In the morning and after supper. But I tried.. I really did.

My sister smoked all through her pregnancy and my nephew came a little early. I have a co-worker that smoke through 3 and is on her 4th and her babies are fine. Then again my boyfriend's mother did and he was born 3 months early and weighed 2 pounds at birth. I plan to quit then I finally get pregnant. Send on the help. notjustanothertoy@yahoo.com

Just think about how selfish it is! That baby has no choice and is so innocent. Yeah, about all I can say is that is extremely selfish and cruel. Make sure you have your friend think twice before she lights up! She must not realize how much harm she is doing to something so precious and innocent. She has GOT to quit smoking if she wants her child to live a long healthy life.

my mother smoked when she was pregnant with my sister and with me, she did however lose my twin at birth, i'm sure her smoking had something to do with it, but back in the 70's doctors didn't know what damage smoking could do. I use to smoke and it's hard to quit, I got scared into quitting and I did it cold turkey yeah it was hard but well work it.

basically ask yourself if you want your baby to be premature and to have to suffer because of you.
