I dropped my cell phone in the sink with a puddle in there, it was literally in there for 5 seconds before i retrieved it. It turns on & off and the screen looks fine but the buttons dont work at all. When i press them nothing happens, it doesnt come up or call the number. I dried the phone as soon as taking it out of the water & then let air dry & dried w/a blow drier, there is no visable wetness anymore. Any idea why everything seems fine but no buttons work?? And also you think if i keep letting it air dry i could eventually get it to fully work properly again??

The buttons may be wet on the inside,
take it apart and blow dry it and then clean it with Q tip and alcohol

Unluckily, the cell is surely a goner. Water damage is one of the things that wireless carriers do not quilt so far as security goes. You are on the whole going to ought to buy a new one. Earlier than i'm going extra - was once the $200 the contract cost, or the alternative cost? Considering the fact that if it was the contract rate, that is a discounted price given to new patrons with the understanding that the carrier will recoup the sponsored loss on the cellphone over time together with your contract. I comprehend it sounds confusing, however wi-fi carriers take a loss on the phones they sell whent they activate a brand new phone, knowing that over time, your $50/month (or anything it's) will help them make their a reimbursement. (Wirelesss is among the few industries that definitely goes up to now the other way up after they set off a new line of service.....)So the $100 telephone you purchased can truely be valued at $four hundred or more, depending on the make/mannequin of the telephone. If the $200 is the substitute cost, as a minimum what you are moving into to. Does your wi-fi provider present used phones? In many instances individuals improve phones and provides the historic ones again to the carrier. They are going to typically instances either give you a used cellphone, or will sell you one for $50, which can help your pockets. Simply some thing to don't forget...It can't hurt to ask! **** Edit: that you can purchase a mobile on eBay, however the store will not be in a position to software it (even it it's unlocked), and it may not work as well for you. However what they'd do is basically an equipment swap, and the stability of your contract can be implemented on the new telephone.

Unfortunately, the mobilephone is without doubt a goner. Water harm is without doubt one of the matters that wi-fi providers do not quilt so far as safety is going. You're more commonly going to must acquire a brand new one. Before I cross additional - used to be the $2 hundred the agreement cost, or the alternative cost? Because if it used to be the agreement cost, that's a reduced cost given to new shoppers with the information that the service will recoup the backed loss at the mobilephone over the years together with your agreement. I realize it sounds complicated, however wi-fi providers take a loss at the telephones they promote whent they turn on a brand new mobilephone, realizing that over the years, your $50/month (or anything it's) will support them make their a refund. (Wirelesss is without doubt one of the few industries that honestly is going thus far the other way up once they turn on a brand new line of provider.....)So the $one hundred mobilephone you purchased can honestly be valued at $four hundred or extra, relying at the make/mannequin of the mobilephone. If the $2 hundred is the alternative cost, no less than you already know what you are stepping into to. Does your wi-fi service present used telephones? Sometimes folks improve telephones and supply the historical ones again to the service. They will quite often instances both supply you a used mobilephone, or will promote you one for $50, which will support your pockets. Just some thing to don't forget...it are not able to harm to invite! **** Edit: you'll be able to acquire a mobilephone on eBay, however the retailer might not be capable to application it (even it it is unlocked), and it would possibly not paintings as good for you. But what they would do is just about an apparatus change, and the steadiness of your agreement could be implemented at the new mobilephone.

regrettably, the telephone is maximum in all likelihood a goner. Water harm is one among the flaws that instantaneous vendors do no longer conceal so some distance as protection is going. you're in all likelihood going to ought to purchase a clean one. in the previous i flow greater - exchange into the $2 hundred the contract fee, or the alternative fee? with the aid of fact if it exchange into the contract fee, that's a decreased fee given to new shoppers with the information that the provider will recoup the backed loss on the telephone with the aid of the years alongside with your contract. i are conscious of it sounds difficult, yet instantaneous vendors take a loss on the telephones they sell whent they activate a clean telephone, understanding that with the aid of the years, your $50/month (or in spite of that's) will help them make their funds lower back. (Wirelesss is one among the few industries that rather is going so some distance the different way up whilst they activate a clean line of provider.....)So the $a hundred telephone you acquire can rather be properly worth $4 hundred or greater, reckoning on the make/sort of the telephone. If the $2 hundred is the alternative fee, a minimum of you already know what you're getting into to. Does your instantaneous provider supply used telephones? each and every so often human beings improve telephones and supply the previous ones lower back to the provider. they're going to in lots of situations situations the two provide you a used telephone, or will sell you one for $50, that may help your wallet. purely one thing to contemplate...it could no longer harm to ask! **** Edit: you ought to purchase a telephone on eBay, however the shop won't be waiting to software it (even it that's unlocked), and it ought to no longer artwork to boot for you. yet what that they had do is in certainty an equipment swap, and the soundness of your contract could be finished on the recent telephone.

Doesn't matter if it dried. The water did enough damage. Hopefully you have insurance and you can go get a replacement phone.

you could try to dry it in the sun, but it's probably broken. They make cell phones very poorly, so you have to keep buying new ones.
