MLK would be proud of us, he always was. He wouldn't be too happy with the negative media portrayal. Then again, who's to say those negative images would be as prevalent if MLK were still alive and the struggle wasn't so fragmented and pretty much on it's last legs politically.

The point having been made already by those that are successful, despite their minority, the media is greatly to blame for how the "world" is viewed by many AMs. But Luther would be more shocked to see how easy it is for the media to move so many to mimmick each other in both dress, speaking, mannerisms, music (not that it's all bad), but let it be said that the "media" is not AM-owned. But those that are in power of it, certainly use it to portray (or not) what would certainly portray (at least) that which he wanted most for AMs: Equality. He lived for many reasons, freedom was a punchline among greater processes. But he died because those that opposed what he represented needed someone to carry out what the majority wanted for the few: repression. In those days, finding angry people that were angry all the time because others merely wanted freedom was as easy as it is difficult crossing the borders (today) to find a job in a country where everyone fights to keep others from having jobs they will not do for no reason other than because "freedom" gives them the right to keep others from achieving the very principles we are all entitled to. Proud? I'm not certain he would be proud. Angry perhaps.

No, he would not be proud of the way the media portrays us. The media tends to highlight many negative aspects blacks. There are many reasons for him to be proud as many blacks are in positions of power and influence; it is just that many of the successful blacks go unnoticed.

no we still act like the choices we make will not hurt anyone, we show no respect for ourselves that's why society lables us trouble makers. they all we know how to do is gangbang, sell drugs, pimpp women, steal from each other that is not what Dr. King meant when he said that he had a dream.
