In terms of education, a PhD. If you make it that high up, you will be in demand as an accounting professor since the accounting field in universities have bulged because of the scandals of the last few years, and the amount of accounting professors is a lot less to help all those who want to be accountants.

A PhD. Actually, that's a fantastic goal, since PhDs in accounting are in such short supply. You can make very good money as a CPA, so most talented accountants work for firms and become principles (meaning you get a cut of the profits). Thus, most don't go on to be PhDs.

A friend of mine is an accountant. He recently made kind of a big mistake. They gave him the 3rd degree. I think that's the highest.
